Holding the title for “Longest Freshwater Beach in the World”, Wasaga Beach is known as a place to beat the heat. It has a rich history including battling indigenous peoples, war between Canada and America, and even Canada’s first overseas flight take-off! But, despite being the mouth of the Nottawasaga river and wrought with historic facts, the area is best characterized by bikini bods and volleyball games.
Excellent land prices and a scenic location has made the area subject to rapid growth in recent years. While there are many new developments in the area, there are also a high number of house flips, turning crippled cottages into beautiful abodes. If the beach has called to you and you find yourself a local, look to NAK Cabinetry when tackling your home projects. We specialize in kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms, pairing cutting-edge design with intelligent home solutions. Whether you are redoing your beach home or polishing up your permanent landing pad, look to us to provide you with the room of your dreams – at budgets you can work with!
The town of Wasaga is at a pivotal point in its development. What once was a destination for the masses has seen a bit of a cooling in recent years. But major changes are underway! The town recently bought back its main strip, and is undergoing a massive beautification project to bring families back to this incredible beach. This means that even more housing and job opportunities are on their way to this jewel on Georgian Bay. Add some shine to your own home by looking to the vast world of tile! Making an incredible wave in the decor world, tiles of all shapes, sizes and colours are making their way as show pieces in the home. Talk to us to find out how to add tile to your next project!
Wasaga Beach is an obvious choice for any who love the outdoors. There are countless trails that run through the area, and the beach is only a hop skip and a jump away from Blue Mountain Resort and Scenic Caves. The Nottawasaga river runs through the town, making for the perfect place to canoe or kayak (with your fishing pole in tow). Many provincial parks exist in the Wasaga Beach borders, including the sand dunes – a spectacular ledge of sand where countless birds make their homes. And, of course, there is the 14+ kilometres of gorgeous, fine-sand beaches. Both locals and visitors agree, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better spot to eat an ice cream while watching the sunset!
